1/1/2008 - I pray everyone's Chanukah, Christmas and New Year was filled with God's best!

My family, friends, and I wrapped up 2007 with a wonderful holiday season here at home in Nashville. We had a quiet, simple holiday that was genuinely touched with peace and joy.

We took a lot of time just to reflect on 2007 and dream about 2008!

Musically, 2007 was filled with...


Having the honor of being an ICM TOP 10 nominee for MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR!

Having my second single, "THE CROSS OF JESUS", climb to #8 on the Power Source Christian Country Charts!

Having my first single, "JOY UNSPEAKABLE", climb to #16 on the Power Source Christian Country Charts!

Knowing that the song I co-wrote with my dear friend and brother, Primorus/Universal recording artist Woody Bradshaw, "SAVED BY A WOMAN", is being played by him in his live shows all over the USA, and is on his debut album LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE!!!! Writing new songs

Putting together a collection of songs from demos, and sessions over the last four years as an "internet only" release for early 2008

Working with my daughter Kaeli-Anne on her budding music career (she is AWESOME)!

Mentoring several other young songwriters

Recording some new worship music

And itching to get back to sharing the music I love with all of you!

On the health front, 2007 was certainly a challenging year with a lot of hospital time, but God's grace was ever-present and everyone's love, faith, and prayers were strengthening and miracle working!

The donor stem cell transplant (bone marrow) from my sister, Melody, which I received back in July, has been very successful.

The process - from then to now - was difficult, but the worst is over we believe, and 2008 is a year for complete health restoration - lots to heal up from :-)

We also wholly believe that the cancer is truly defeated.

Now that my bone marrow, blood, and lymphatic system are entirely my sister's DNA, we believe that my immune system has become a "cancer killing machine", quickened by God to bring health!

The last tests appear to confirm this, too!

I want to give a huge thank you to the incredible medical team at the Transplant Unit. Dr. Goodman, Dr. Chin, Dr. Savani, PA Tiny, PA Tommy, PA Wendy, PA Rachel, and all the precious nurses and staff - their spirit of excellence and care have given hope and life!

So, here's to 2008

The great response to this song has been encouraging and humbling.

Contemporary gospel at it's best. An interesting melody, unusual in the genre. Chorus is as strong as any secular tune and the production here is smooth using natural instruments and good mics. Harmony reminds me of Alison Krauss' music. Vocal is soft and forceful and totally convincing. one would hope that this is where the genre is going. Good work.

12/3/2006 - It has been a BUSY month since the last news update.

A couple of highlights are...

1) UNIVERSAL/PRIMORIS recording artist Woody Bradshaw recorded my song "Saved by a Woman".

He and I wrote the song together and I am blessed beyond words that he and the label agreed to cut it!

This is Woody's debut album AND it is available in stores...

SO, if you want some GREAT music, get on over to your record store and get a copy for yourself!

11/3/2006 - Hey everyone,I will be playing this Monday night, the 6th of Oct, at the ROY ACUFF THEATRE located across from the Opry Mills Mall and right next to the Grand Ole Opry.

I will be going on stage at about 8 pm, but the show starts at 6pm.

I will be playing with a GREAT band. The bass player, Paul Arntz, and the drummer, Jim Pace, both played on RE-Construction!

There will be a lot of talented artists playing a great night!

The cost is $10 at the door.

Also, for clarification on the location of the Lance Christopher booth for the ICM convention, we will be in the ATRIUM room at the Radisson Hotel Opryland (across from Opryland Hotel, the Radisson is the one with the Applebee's inside).

Our booth will be running starting this Saturday, the 4th of Oct, through 8th.

Please come on down and show some love :)

10/24/2006 - I want to thank everyone for helping to make "Joy Unspeakable" #58 on the Christian Country Charts (Power Source)!

This is a pretty cool lead up to the Christian Country Music Association award week coming up November 4th-9th at the Radisson Hotel Opryland.

I will have a booth there all week with my precious family and a few volunteers on board!

So, stop by and hug on us.

I will be playing at the Roy Acuff Theater on the evening of the 6th (Monday) at 8:00 pm.

Tickets will be $10 at the door.

This is a pretty big deal...

10/8/2006 - JAPAN & HAWAII!!!!

Michelle and I got home last week, tried to get a good night's sleep, and then hit the ground running!

It is going to prove to be a VERY busy fall... Wouldn't want it any other way :)

In Japan and Hawaii, we were able to enjoy renewing old friendships, and we made MANY new friends as well!!!

It was an ACTION packed 3 weeks to put it mildly.

Stay tuned for the highlights, nitty gritty, and all kinds of interesting stuff!

In the next week or so, I will be diving back into blogging, sharing concert footage from Japan, and just plain reminiscing!

AND do I ever have some GREAT stories to share ;)

My producer, Ernie Petrangelo, taking his first surfing lessons on Waikiki to celebrate turning 50... I hope I look that good at 50... WOW! AND YES THERE IS VIDEO!

Playing a concert, and having the mayor of Shisui come check it out and love it!

Reuniting with my high school brothers, Chris and John... Chris and his dad, Gary, and dear Rose opened their home to us and Chris gave us a VERY cool, 4X4 truck to cruise Oahu in... Yeah Brah!

Getting to say a HUGE "Thank You!" to one of my heroes in the Faith, Pastor Mike Palompo. He REALLY impacted my life during my teen years while I was a student "knucklehead" at Radford High school :)

Hanging out with a wild-and-passionate-for-Christ bunch of YWAMers in Japan!

AND a whole bunch of DIVINE appointments that are begging to be shared!

6/12/2006 - Hey everyone, I wanted to just put the word out that after a year cancer free, a biopsy of the bone in my jaw showed cancer cells.

To each of you who lifts me up in prayer for God's healing touch in my body, please know that I, and my family, are eternally grateful :)

The good news is that... Well, God is faithful... And we do have treatment options.

Also, the new album, RE-Construction, is musically done!

I just have to get the extras for the enhanced portion completed.

And "JOY UNSPEAKABLE" will officially be released to Christian Country radio stations accross the nation in mid July... Pretty excited about that :)

I will still be doing some live shows to support the new album and once we have all the dates locked down and built around treatment (ugh) I will get them posted.

So, yes, I will (Lord willing) still be out ministering and playing.

I am the ListenerStation.com country LIMELIGHT ARTIST for March/April!

My voice over and song I JUST CAN'T LET GO are being featured in "drive time" 60 second promo spots in a co-branded marketing campaign with ListenerStation.com on a limited national level... That's right... NATIONAL!

11/22/2005 - Hey folks, I wanted to send a HUGE shout out to PLUMB, all the girls at Nashville's own Women's Music Business Association, Chris Wallin, everybody at Provision International (my church home), and my dear friend (and a VERY talented vocalist) Andrea Flowers.

These last two years have been pretty amazing... Some very real lows and some pretty unbelievable highs.

The cancer battle has been something that has changed me... How is that for an understatement :)

The thought that it is now in remission still puts me on my knees thanking God.

However, there is still some treatment I need, to ensure (the best we can by God's grace) that it never comes back.

That is why I am so grateful for how PLUMB, WMBA, Chris Wallin, Provision International, and Andrea Flowers have unselfishly stepped up to help raise the money needed for treatment by putting on a benefit concert on December 1 at Provision International.

Honestly, I still can't believe that PLUMB is willing to headline the event... It is just too cool!

To begin with I'm a fan.

Her lyrical honesty and willingness to tackle "real life" as a Christian recording artist blow me away (thanks Curb for supporting her in her artistic integrity)!

9/20/2005 - Lance will be in the studio all week with Ernie Petrangelo working on his "yet to be titled" sophmore album.

Like "Saved By A Woman", this album is going to be very personal in nature. Lance said, "A lot of the songs were written during the heat of the cancer battle and they really dig deep into the highs and lows of living... But I think the overall feel of this album is joy... When it is all said and done, life is good and worth fighting for! This album is acoustic, intimate and spiritual."

Right now, we are all working hard to have a "pre-release" version of the album especially for Lance's fans in Japan. If we can get it done, a limited number will be available at the live shows in Tokyo!

8/4/2005 - It is official... Lance Christopher will be the ListenerStation.com country LIMELIGHT ARTIST from August 15th - September 15th! Lance and his song BABY, WE'RE GONE will be featured in "drive time" 60 second promo spots in a national marketing campaign... That's right... NATIONAL!!!

So...... When you hear the spot..... Call in and request to hear the WHOLE song. If they get enough call-ins, it could push the song into the playlists and who knows what could happen then!

7/27/2005 - Lance Christopher will be in Tokyo, Japan, this coming October. In Association with Tom Kawai of Lonestar Productions, Lance will play a mix of venues as well as making promotional appearances.

Lance said, "This is a chance to take my music to Asia for the first time! I spent a lot of time as a kid in Hawaii and fell in love with the Japanese influenced culture of the islands. I am grateful for Tom Kawai and Torn Sky Records making this possible. We are all hoping that this is just the first of many tours in Japan!"

We will keep you posted on the itinerary as it is finalized.

Tennessee–based country newcomer, Lance Christopher, didn’t have to dig deep for inspiration for his debut release, Saved By A Woman (Torn Sky Records). He just prodded his memory. He then confronted some home truths, and, when realized, thanked God – the answer was closer than he thought...

...And while Christopher can thank his "voice" and a stand-by-her-man wife for the title track, the remaining 11 mostly self-penned tunes take their roots in living out the songwriter’s life. Tracks like "Baby We’re Gone," a tale of wished-for coastal escapes, "You Were Too Cool" with its childhood infatuations, and the personal "I Defy Gravity," telling of confrontation with major illness, all allow this faith-driven singer room to share and show his obvious talent.

And it’s a talent attracting some interest. Christopher’s web site shows he’s well connected. At his "Writers’ Shack," he’s developed a haven for sharing lyrics and insight into today’s country music writer. It’s there, writers including Woody Bradshaw, Dennis Van Hove, and Pamela Michelle Watkins (Christopher’s wife), share biographies, videos and ambitions.

03/08/2005 - Lance Christopher is recovering from a stem cell transplant in the VA hospital in Nashville, TN. He has been fighting Multiple Myeloma, cancer of the bone and blood, for a year and a half. His doctors and his team all felt that this was the next step in treatment. This was not a donor transplant, rather, he recieved his own purified stem cells. Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

Michelle, Lance's wife, says, "Lance is in great spirit. We know people are praying, and God has a plan. He's excited to enter into the next chapter of his life. So, expect to hear some great songs coming from him!"

1/31/2005 - Hey folks, my family and I will be road tripping south to Florida today for a week of sun! We will be spending a few days in Orlando and going "guess where". Then we'll be spending a couple of days in Fort Lauderdale with my co-writer Bryant Meltzer and visiting other dear friends there. 1/21/2005 - Lance Christopher has crafted a song capturing the humanity and reality of America’s great law enforcement officers. Written with fellow songwriter, Tony Castro aka T Wyatt, himself a retired peace officer, this song entitled THAT’S ENOUGH, is both authentic and powerful.

“Writing with T was incredible. We spent hours just examining the way the officer on the street relates to his job, family, and the people on his beat. We didn’t want to necessarily write another anthem. Rather, we wanted the lyric to phrase just like a cop talking to a family member… conversational, you know." Said Lance, "We had pages of just word palette… And I believe that we are both very proud of this song… It’s a little different. It was an honor to sing it and get the feedback of officers who felt we had captured a little piece of their life in a song. They are the heroes…”

12/10/2004 - My brother-in-law, Jerry, sent me a link to an article in his small town paper the other day. The writer shares how one night recently, he and his family were surprised with a sight that few people ever get to see... A RAINBOW IN A NIGHT SKY.

The thought of a rainbow at night definately got my attention. I quickly shared it with Michelle and the kids and we talked about it for a bit.

One could probably write a book on the insights to be gleaned from a rainbow at night, but I have to get back to the studio!

So, let me leave you with this...

I think God speaks in all kinds of different ways. I also obviously think that the writer of the article is soooo right when he shares that he believes God was speaking in what he and his family witnessed.

09/20/04 - Torn Sky Records unveils a fresh program to keep fans in direct contact with their artist’s creativity. In a phone interview, Dennis VanHove, Chief Manager of Torn Sky Records’ parent company, VanWatkins,LLC, explained,

“We wanted to break down the wall between the singer/songwriter’s creativity and his fan base. Traditionally, fans must wait for an album before they can enjoy new music... And even then they only get to hear the few songs that make the album. We asked the question “why?”. Dennis VanHove’s enthusiasm is contagious. 09/10/04 - Lance Christopher’s debut album, SAVED BY A WOMAN will be available nationally through a distribution agreement with Artist One Stop. The album will be available the second week of October in well-known record outlets like Tower Records, Best Buy, Barnes & Nobles, and others.
